Carol Ryrie Brink (1895–1981) was an American author who published more than thirty books for children and adults, along with plays and poetry. Her writing career began with magazine and newspaper contributions before her first book, Anything Can Happen on the River, appeared in 1934. She is best known for Caddie Woodlawn, a children’s historical novel inspired by her grandmother’s frontier stories that won the 1936 Newbery Medal.
