He is best known for the award-winning collection Every House Is Haunted, whose story “The House on Ashley Avenue” was a Shirley Jackson Award finalist and was optioned for film by Sam Raimi. His other work includes the novel Family, the Black Lands series featuring paranormal investigator Felix Renn, the novella Grey, and the novel Sycamore.
