He earned an MFA in Dramatic Writing from the University of California, San Diego, and made his publishing debut with The Eleventh Plague in 2011. His subsequent work includes science fiction, fantasy, dystopian, post-apocalyptic, and adventure novels such as Magisterium, The Darkest Path, Black River Falls, Unnatural Disasters, and Sovereign.
