J.M. Hofer is a self-published author best known for the five-volume Islands in the Mist series. Her fiction reimagines post-Roman Britain through Welsh and Celtic mythology, combining historical settings with magic, supernatural beings, romance, and epic adventure. Islands in the Mist was a top-five fantasy selection in the 2013 Amazon Breakthrough Novel Award Contest, and the series was later released in audiobook editions narrated by John Keating.
