Taylor J. LaRue is a Seattle-based fantasy writer whose debut novel, Steelborn, was nearly two decades in the making. She began developing its protagonist as a teenager, later studied journalism and creative writing, worked as a journalist and in marketing, and spent several years at Barnes & Noble before publishing. Steelborn is the first book in a planned trilogy and launched her career as a romantasy author.
