James Howe is an American author of more than ninety books for young readers. He began writing full-time after Bunnicula, coauthored with his late wife Deborah Howe, was published in 1979. His career includes picture books, early-reader and chapter-book series, middle-grade novels, young adult fiction, nonfiction, anthologies, and adaptations, with notable works including Bunnicula, Pinky and Rex, Houndsley and Catina, and The Misfits.
