Mateo Askaripour began pursuing writing seriously in 2016 after managing a team at a New York City tech startup. His debut novel, Black Buck, was published in 2021, became a New York Times bestseller, and earned recognition including a National Book Foundation 5 Under 35 honor. His second novel, This Great Hemisphere, was published in 2024, and he is currently working on his next novel, Pure Ox.
