Jon Lee Anderson is an American journalist, biographer, and war correspondent who began reporting in 1979 for Peru’s Lima Times and later covered conflicts and political movements across Latin America, the Middle East, Africa, and elsewhere. He has been a staff writer for The New Yorker since 1998, where he has written extensively about war, revolution, and political leaders. His books include Che Guevara: A Revolutionary Life, Guerrillas, The Fall of Baghdad, and To Lose a War: The Fall and Rise of the Taliban.
