A graduate of the Iowa Writers’ Workshop and recipient of the Michener-Copernicus Fellowship, she made her literary debut with the internationally acclaimed novel A Place for Us, a New York Times bestseller and a notable work of contemporary fiction about an Indian American Muslim family.
