Julian Randall is a queer Black poet and author from Chicago whose writing has appeared in The New York Times Magazine, POETRY, Ploughshares, The Atlantic, Vibe, and the Los Angeles Review of Books. He is the author of the poetry collection Refuse, the memoir and essay collection The Dead Don’t Need Reminding, and middle-grade books including the Pilar Ramirez duology, The Chainbreakers, and Shook. A Pushcart Prize recipient and Cave Canem Poetry Prize winner, Randall holds an MFA in poetry from the University of Mississippi.
