Cathy Hayward is a British novelist who began her career as a journalist and magazine publishing director before moving into fiction. After completing a creative-writing programme in Brighton, she won Agora Books’ Lost the Plot Work in Progress Prize for her debut novel, The Girl in the Maze, later reissued as The Girl in the Midnight Maze. She writes emotionally driven novels about family relationships, buried secrets and intergenerational mysteries, often using dual timelines.
