Tom Crewe is an English novelist, historian, and editor born in Middlesbrough in 1989. He holds a PhD in nineteenth-century British history from the University of Cambridge and has been an editor at the London Review of Books since 2015, contributing essays on politics, art, history, and fiction. His debut novel, The New Life, was published in 2023 and received major literary recognition, including the Orwell Prize for Political Fiction.
