Paul C. Gutjahr is Ruth N. Halls Professor of English at Indiana University and an interdisciplinary scholar of American literature, religious thought, and the history of publishing. He writes scholarly nonfiction on religious texts and American religious culture, including The Book of Mormon: A Biography, Charles Hodge: Guardian of American Orthodoxy, An American Bible, and Faith in Space: American Religious Belief in Extraterrestrial Life.
