Philip Gwynne Jones was born in Swansea and first came to Italy in 1994 while working for the European Space Agency. After two decades in the IT industry, he became a writer and translator and now lives in Venice. His fiction career began with The Venetian Game in 2017, launching the successful Nathan Sutherland crime series set in Venice; he later began a Sicily-set mystery series with The Magus of Sicily.
