Ward Carroll is a retired U.S. Navy commander and former F-14 Tomcat aviator who drew on his naval experience to write military fiction. He is best known for the Punk novels—Punk’s War, Punk’s Wing, Punk’s Fight, and Punk’s Force—which portray the lives of Navy fighter pilots and carrier aviation personnel. Punk’s War earned him Naval Institute Press Author of the Year in 2001, and he has also written military commentary and served in editorial roles.
