He is a senior writer at Rolling Stone and the author of acclaimed nonfiction books about Jeff and Tim Buckley, Sonic Youth, the Grateful Dead, Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, the 1970 music scene, and Greenwich Village’s musical history.
