She began her career on The Sun’s showbiz desk, later writing The Guardian’s Diary and Lost in Showbiz columns before becoming known for incisive commentary on British politics, celebrity culture, sport, and current affairs. Her books include Celebrity: How Entertainers Took Over the World and Why We Need an Exit Strategy and What Just Happened?!: Dispatches from Turbulent Times.
