H. W. Crocker III is an American author, historian, journalist, political speechwriter, and longtime book editor. He is best known for military and political histories—including works on the American Civil War, British Empire, World War I, and Catholic Church—as well as the comic historical novel The Old Limey and the Custer of the West series. He has written for publications including National Review, The American Spectator, and The Washington Times, and served for more than thirty years as executive editor of Regnery Publishing.
