E. C. Bateman is a novelist and antique jewellery specialist, best known for the Stamford Mysteries series, which began with Death at the Auction in 2022. After moving to Stamford and marrying an auctioneer, she drew on the town’s Georgian setting and the antiques trade to create the series featuring auctioneer and amateur sleuth Felicia Grant. The series includes Murder Most Antique, Bidding for Murder, and Death Under the Hammer.
