Clayborne Carson is an American historian, author, and editor whose writing focuses on African American history, the Civil Rights Movement, and Martin Luther King Jr. He is best known for editing The Papers of Martin Luther King, Jr., compiling The Autobiography of Martin Luther King, Jr., and writing In Struggle: SNCC and the Black Awakening of the 1960s. He also served as a historical adviser for documentary projects including Eyes on the Prize.
