Bolu Babalola is a British-Nigerian writer, journalist, screenwriter, and cultural commentator known for romantic stories centered on dynamic Black women. Her debut short-story collection, Love in Colour, retells love myths from around the world and became a Sunday Times bestseller; she followed it with the contemporary romantic comedies Honey and Spice and Sweet Heat. She also writes scripts, culture pieces, and essays, and describes herself as a “romcomoisseur.”
