Carlene Thompson is an American suspense novelist from West Virginia. After earning a Ph.D. in English from Ohio State University and teaching at the University of Rio Grande, she left academia to write full-time. Her first novel, Black for Remembrance, was published in 1990, and her books are known for psychological mysteries, suspense, romantic elements, and recurring animal characters.
