Julie Lawson Timmer is a Canadian-born fiction author who grew up in Ontario, earned a bachelor’s degree from McMaster University, and later received a law degree from Southern Methodist University. After working as an attorney and in-house legal counsel in Michigan, she pursued a writing career. She is the author of Five Days Left, Untethered, and Mrs. Saint and the Defectives, novels that explore grief, caregiving, foster care, divorce, parenting, and chosen family.
