Helen FitzGerald is an Australian novelist and screenwriter who began publishing with her debut novel, Dead Lovely, in 2007. She has since written numerous adult and young-adult thrillers, including The Cry, which was adapted into a BBC drama, and the dark-comedy thriller Worst Case Scenario, which won the CrimeFest Last Laugh Award. She previously worked as a criminal justice social worker, an experience that informs much of her fiction, and lives in Glasgow.
