Ada Palmer is an American novelist and historian whose fiction career began with the four-volume Terra Ignota series, starting with Too Like the Lightning and continuing through Seven Surrenders, The Will to Battle, and Perhaps the Stars. Her writing combines speculative worldbuilding with history, philosophy, politics, and questions about censorship, religion, and social organization. She has also written nonfiction, including Inventing the Renaissance: Myths of a Golden Age.
