Ross King is a Canadian-born author who began his writing career with the historical novels Domino and Ex-Libris before turning primarily to narrative nonfiction. He is best known for acclaimed, bestselling books on Italian, French, and Canadian art and history, including Brunelleschi's Dome, Michelangelo and the Pope's Ceiling, Leonardo and the Last Supper, Mad Enchantment, The Bookseller of Florence, and The Shortest History of Italy. He also writes biographies, including Machiavelli: Philosopher of Power, and lectures widely on art and cultural history.
