Georgi Gospodinov (born 1968) is a Bulgarian poet, novelist, short-story writer, playwright, and essayist. He began his literary career as a poet before gaining international recognition with his experimental debut novel, Natural Novel (1999), followed by The Physics of Sorrow and Time Shelter, which won the 2023 International Booker Prize. His work is known for blending literary experimentation, irony, memory, history, and the fantastic across multiple forms.
