Fuyumi Ono is a Japanese novelist who debuted in 1988 and is best known for The Twelve Kingdoms, a landmark fantasy series that began with The Demonic Child in 1991. She has also written the Ghost Hunt series and acclaimed horror and mystery novels including Shiki and The Eerie Dead. Her work has received major Japanese honors, including the Yamamoto Shūgorō Prize for The Residue and the Eiji Yoshikawa Bunko Prize for The Twelve Kingdoms.
