Her fiction has appeared in The New Yorker, The Atlantic, and other literary magazines; her first published story was accepted by The New Yorker in 1992. She is best known for Games and Rituals, Early Morning Riser, Standard Deviation, and Single, Carefree, Mellow, which explore relationships, family, friendship, and everyday life with humor and empathy.
