Lauren Wolk is an award-winning American poet, artist, and novelist. After graduating from Brown University, she worked as a writer, editor, teacher, and writing-center administrator before publishing her first novel, Those Who Favor Fire, in 1999. She is best known for acclaimed middle-grade novels including Wolf Hollow, a Newbery Honor Book, Beyond the Bright Sea, Echo Mountain, My Own Lightning, and Candle Island, as well as the picture book The Outermost Mouse.
