David Michaelis is an American writer and biographer whose career began in the late 1970s with editing and fiction before he turned primarily to nonfiction. He is the author of acclaimed biographies including N.C. Wyeth, Schulz and Peanuts, and Eleanor; N.C. Wyeth won the 1999 Ambassador Book Award for Biography, while Schulz and Peanuts became a National Book Critics Circle Best Recommended Book.
