Rex Pickett is an American novelist, screenwriter, playwright, and filmmaker best known for his debut novel Sideways, which was adapted into Alexander Payne’s Oscar-winning film. He went on to write the Sideways sequels Vertical, Sideways 3 Chile, Sideways Oregon, and Sideways New Zealand, as well as the mystery-thriller The Archivist. Pickett also wrote the Oscar-winning short-film screenplay My Mother Dreams the Satan’s Disciples in New York and has adapted Sideways for the stage and musical theater.
