Sequoia Nagamatsu is an American novelist and short-story writer whose work blends literary fiction with speculative and genre-bending elements. He is the author of the story collection Where We Go When All We Were Is Gone (2016) and the national bestselling novel How High We Go in the Dark (2022), which was a New York Times Editors’ Choice. His fiction has appeared in publications including Conjunctions, The Southern Review, ZYZZYVA, Tin House, Iowa Review, and Lightspeed Magazine, and he teaches creative writing at Saint Olaf College and the Rainier Writing Workshop.
