James Chandler is the pen name of a Wall Street Journal bestselling author who began writing fiction after publishing military-history and legal articles. His debut novel, Misjudged, launched the Sam Johnstone legal-thriller series in 2020, followed by further courtroom mysteries including One and Done, False Evidence, Capital Justice, The Truthful Witness, Conflict of Duty, Course of Conduct, and Reasonable Suspicion. Chandler practiced law in Wyoming and draws on his military and legal experience in his crime fiction.
