Brian Lee Durfee is an American fantasy and horror writer who began his published fiction career with the alternate-history horror novels South Severe and Bedlam Blues, written under the pseudonym Brian D. Lee. His best-known work is The Five Warrior Angels, an epic grimdark fantasy trilogy published by Saga Press, beginning with The Forgetting Moon and continuing through The Blackest Heart and The Lonesome Crown. He is also an accomplished wildlife, landscape, and fantasy artist and lives in Salt Lake City.
