Marian Babson was the pen name of American mystery writer Ruth Marian Stenstreem (1929–2017), who lived in London for much of her life. After working as a librarian, secretary, and Crime Writers’ Association secretary, she became a full-time writer; her first novel, Cover-Up Story, was published in 1971. She wrote numerous short, often cat-centered mysteries featuring amateur sleuths, and received the CWA Dagger in the Library Award and an Agatha Award for lifetime achievement.
