Martin Duberman is an American historian, biographer, playwright, memoirist, and novelist whose writing spans American social history, Black civil rights, radical politics, and LGBTQ+ history. He has published more than twenty books, including Stonewall, Paul Robeson, Cures: A Gay Man’s Odyssey, and The Rest of It, and wrote the award-winning play In White America. He also founded CUNY’s Center for Lesbian and Gay Studies.
