Robert F. Jones (1934–2002) was an American novelist and outdoor writer whose career included reporting for the Milwaukee Sentinel and Time before he joined Sports Illustrated, where he covered sports and the outdoors. He wrote adventure novels, Westerns, and fiction incorporating fantastic or surreal elements, as well as nonfiction about hunting, fishing, sports, and dogs. He lived in Vermont later in life, and his papers are held by the University of Virginia.
