Paul Collins is an American nonfiction author, editor, and professor of English and Creative Writing at Portland State University. His writing career focuses on history, biography, memoir, science writing, and unusual figures and episodes from the past, including Shakespeare’s First Folio, Thomas Paine, Edgar Allan Poe, and historic murder cases. He is also a Guggenheim Fellow and has edited books for McSweeney’s.
