Fannie Flagg is an American novelist, screenwriter, and television writer whose writing career began with television specials and Candid Camera before she became known for bestselling novels including Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe, Standing in the Rainbow, and The Whole Town’s Talking. She also wrote the screenplay for Fried Green Tomatoes, which earned an Academy Award nomination and won the Scripter Award.
