Christopher Tolkien (1924–2020) was an English editor, scholar, and writer who became the literary executor of his father J. R. R. Tolkien. He edited and published 24 volumes of his father’s posthumous writings, including The Silmarillion and The History of Middle-earth, and later prepared The Children of Húrin, Beren and Lúthien, and The Fall of Gondolin. He also wrote and edited works on medieval literature and Old Norse texts.
