Eric A. Kimmel is an American author of more than 150 books for children, including picture books, novels, and retellings of folktales and myths from around the world. He began publishing in 1974 after working as a teacher, librarian, and professor of education, later becoming a full-time writer. His honors include a Caldecott Honor for Hershel and the Hanukkah Goblins, five National Jewish Book Awards, and the Sydney Taylor Lifetime Achievement Award.
