Robert Doherty is a pen name of Bob Mayer, a West Point graduate and former U.S. Army Green Beret who began publishing novels in 1991. Writing as Robert Doherty, Mayer created the bestselling Area 51 series and other military suspense and science-fiction novels, drawing extensively on his military experience and interest in history, legends, and unexplained phenomena.
