Rod Kierkegaard Jr. is an American writer and cartoonist best known for his comic strip “Rock Opera,” which ran in Heavy Metal magazine from 1981 to 1988. He has published French graphic-novel collections including Stars Massacre (released in the United States as Shooting Stars) and Rock Monstres, and later pursued a career as a novelist, writing works such as Obama Jones & the Logic Bomb, The Department of Magic, and The Vampire Circus.
