Phillip B. Williams is a Chicago-born poet, novelist, and educator. He is the author of the poetry collections Thief in the Interior, which won the Kate Tufts Discovery Award and a Lambda Literary Award, and Mutiny, which won an American Book Award, as well as the historical fantasy novel Ours. His poetry and fiction explore Black surrealism, folklore, spirituality, mythology, history, and queer identity; he is a professor of creative writing at Rice University.
