Gaël Faye is a Franco-Rwandan-Burundian writer, rapper, singer, and songwriter. He began his literary career with the internationally acclaimed novel Petit pays (2016), which won the Prix Goncourt des lycéens and other major awards. His second novel, Jacaranda (2024), exploring Rwanda’s post-genocide reconstruction across generations, won the Prix Renaudot.
