Carrie Fisher (1956–2016) was an American author, screenwriter, and comedian best known for her sharp, autobiographical writing. She published her first novel, Postcards from the Edge, in 1987, followed by three other bestselling novels and several memoirs, including Wishful Drinking, Shockaholic, and The Princess Diarist. Fisher also wrote and performed the one-woman stage show Wishful Drinking and worked extensively as a Hollywood script doctor.
