Donella H. Meadows was an American environmental writer, systems thinker, and educator best known as the principal author of The Limits to Growth (1972). She went on to write and co-write books including The Global Citizen, Beyond the Limits, and Thinking in Systems, and wrote a widely syndicated environmental and economics column for 16 years. Her accessible writing connected systems analysis with sustainability, ecology, economics, and social change.
