Neil Postman (1931–2003) was an American author, educator, media theorist, and cultural critic who taught at New York University, where he founded a graduate program in media ecology. He wrote more than 20 books and over 200 articles on media, technology, education, language, and culture. His best-known works include Amusing Ourselves to Death, The Disappearance of Childhood, Technopoly, and The End of Education.
