Carol S. Dweck is an American psychologist and Stanford University professor whose research and writing focus on motivation, achievement, learning, and the role of mindsets in personal development. She is best known for Mindset: The New Psychology of Success, which brought her growth-mindset research to a broad popular audience, and she has also written the scholarly book Self-Theories: Their Role in Motivation, Personality, and Development.
